Best Buddies

This past week we went to my parents for Thanksgiving. While we were there, Addison had the opportunity to play with her cousin, Aspen. Aspen is about to turn 1 year old, and like Addison was, is pretty easy going. Well, Addison, on the other hand has gotten pretty naughty when it comes to sharing toys and playing fair. It was a constant battle trying to get Addison to stop fussing everytime Aspen came toward the toys. I tried severl attempts at putting her on time-out, but my Mom insisted that she didn't know any better. I agreed until Addison deliberately placed a toy in front of Aspen, and then as soon as Aspen went for the toy, Addison fussed and took it away!! Where do they learn these things? Definately not from us! Well, all in all they got along pretty well and had a great time playing.

Pig Tails

We are so excited that Addison's hair is growing at a faster pace, so Mom has gotten carried away with the pig tails. Well, you can see for yourselves.

Goodbye infant carseat

Before Addison was born, the American Board of Pediatrics rule for booster car seats was 20 pounds or 1 year old. Since then they changed the rules to 20 pounds AND 1 year old. For Addison's 1 year well baby check up she only weighed in at 17 1/2 pounds, so we were totally bumbed that she had to stay in the infant seat until she reached 20 pounds. Well, 2 weeks ago we went in for her 15 month well-baby check and we are happy to announce that she is finally 20 pounds, barely. She is so proud of her "big girl" seat, and the fact that she can see Mom and Dad when she rides in the car. No more rear facing carseats for this girl!

Costume blooper

I mentioned in the last entry about Addison trying to take her halloween costume off. I finally figured out how to download the video clip, so enjoy.

Halloween 2007

Addison celebrated her 1st official Halloween this year. We had her dressed up as a bumble bee, but didn't like her costume on all that much. I have a video of her trying to take her costume off, but I don't know how to download it. I will have to post it later when Brad can show me how.

Fearless

Addison is getting to the stage where playing with toys just doesn't entertain her anymore. She is constantly looking for something to get into. This morning while getting ready to go to church, she was happily going through the drawers in our bedroom. Then when she got bored of that, she went on the the bathroom where she proceeded to unroll the toilet paper. After I took that away, she found more toilet paper in the other bathroom. Since I was out of sight, she decided to unroll that toilet paper roll. Brad had used that toilet earlier this morning and forgot to put the lid down, shame on him. When I found Addison, she was piling the tiolet paper in the toilet. She had so much in there that the top of the pile wasn't in the water!! When she saw me she proceeded to grab the pile and start to pull it out, resulting in soggy toilet paper on the floor. What a curious stage she is in right now. I think of it as being naughty, but I am sure she is just exploring.

On the same note; a few days ago I was taking a shower, and I decided to let Addison explore outside of the confines of the Excersaucer. I guess I had too much trust in her and when I got out of the shower, I found her in the den on top of the desk writing on paper with a PEN!! Thank goodness she didn't fall off the desk and she didn't poke her eye out with the pen or the pair of scissors that where lying next to her. Let me tell you I said a silent prayer that moment, after I took a picture. Let's just hope that in the upcomming months when she decides to pull another stunt like this, that she will come through unharmed.

Our Adorable Girl

We recently took a trip to Arizona to visit family and attend our nephews blessing. While we were there, a friend took some adorable pictures of Addison. Here are a few for you to view.

Our little Toddler

Not a day goes by that Addison doesn't amaze us. She is such a ham and is always getting into something, everytime we turn the corner. Her latest thing is terrorizing Winston, and she gets a kick out of it. The other day I found her sitting in Winston's toy basket, playing with his toys. Heaven forbid she play with her own toys, shesh!!

This morning, after I got out of the shower, I found her in our bedroom bent down with her head touching the ground and looking between her legs. Of course when I came back with the camera she wasn't doing it anymore, so I had her reinact it for the picture.

A few hours later, I found her in our bedroom again. This time she had a pair of my underware around her neck. I was proud that she attempted to dress herself, just with the wrong article of clothing in the wrong place, hehe. I took a picture, but I won't post it to save me the embarrassment.

Visit with Cousin

We had the opportunity to stay 2 days at my sister Whitnies' house, while Brad was working in Springfield. Addison had a few issues with me holding Whitnie's baby, Pagelynn. Yes, our little one has jealousy issues. She can't even take it when Brad and I hug and kiss, without trying to get in between us. Anyway, we went to a cute little park the 1st day and walked around a "lake". Addison had a blast.

The next day we went outlet shopping, and Addison was such a trooper. We had a great time and found some great deals. This next picture is of Addison getting ready to go, as she goes through Mommy's makeup bag.

Pigtails and Pajama Bottoms

We finally are able to put Addison's hair in a pigtail, now that it has decided to grow a little. It looks as if she wasn't happy about the pigtail in this picture, but she is yawning.

Addison insisted, the other day, that I put her pajama bottoms on her head. She was running around the house thinking she was quiet silly, until I got the camara out to take a picture, and then she wanted to take them off ASAP, of course!!

Visit with Grandpa

We had the opportunity to see Grandpa Nielsen a few weeks ago as he was in Kansas City on business. We only had a few hours to spend with him, but it was fun to see him even if it was for such a short time.

Poor Winston

Winston had to go to the vet today, because he had some nasty sores in his ears. The result, a cone around his neck. We have had our laughs for today watching him mope around. He acts so ashamed.

1st Birthday

We can't believe how times flies. We celebrated Addison's 1st birthday today!! She didn't quite get why mommy and daddy were making such a big fuss over her, but she enjoyed it. She got a Dora the Explorer ride-on, that I will already say is annoying with all the sounds it makes. She loved her cake, although she didn't get the hang of blowing out the candles. All in all she had a great day.

Arkansas Bunch

I am sure that everyone is dying to see pictures of us :) Addison experienced her first fireworks this month and was quite entertained by them. Also, she has become an expert at walking and is trying to climb onto and up everything. We will be celebrating her 1st birthday next week; my how times flys.

Welcome all

With blogging on the rise, we thought that we should join the trend. With families scattered, and we don't get very many chances to see each other, it's a perfect way to keep everyone updated. Lets have fun with it, and we are excited to see pictures and hear how everyone is doing.
